Since 2020 the Foundation had the opportunity to support one of Alzheimer’s Italian associations, based in Biella, Italy.
The Meeting Center was born in 2017 in the headquarters is in the historic center of Biella, Piedmont.
Mente Locale is a very pleasant meeting hub where seniors learn to better manage their ageing process in a beautiful environment . The aim is to prevent cognitive decline through training their memory, their body and above all by stimulating their relationships with others. Everyone can participate all activities: people with memory issues or people who are still doing well and wish to age in good health.
The team center works together with psychologists for cognitive enhancement activities and brain fitness, or with physiotherapists and qualified instructors for physical activities. There are also experts for artistic and creative workshops. Mente Locale collaborates with other organizations as well: the long-term goal is to create an inclusive community, in which people with memory problems and their families feel fully integrated with a dynamized social life.
